The girls on the left have been studying a few years and, to their parents horror, have taken a stand for Jehovah by refusing to attend the temple. This picture was taken yesterday. Would you believe they arrived at our KH lobby in tears, afraid, un-showered with un-brushed teeth - at 6:30am? To "escape" compromise. Bethelites from the PJ group had them stay in their room until their teacher arrived. When I arrived at 9:30am, they had red-watery eyes and big smiles. Why? As one of them said, "Jehovah is so happy with us today!"

I study with the 7-yr olds mum. He drives me nuts! We study at Jollibee where he interrupts the study, climbs on the cashiers counter, climbs the walls, eats gum found under tables, then uses it to stick his superman toy figure on the wall, anyway! you get the point debah? Mum, btw, is doing great with her study. But I always thought that this kid never "gets-it", should just be locked up in a kiddie-asylum. But yesterday he cracked me up. His family attends temple where there is a baba-ji (a religious man/teacher - looks like an indian santa claus, beard etc) to whom people bow down and throw money in his box. Now, the kids dad is clean-shaven/short hair. He told his dad yesterday, "Dad, grow your hair, grow a beard, grow a beard!!! . . .then we can be rich . . ." Even insane kids that never pay attention can see how religion is a business.
But he calls me "baba-ji" too, hmmm, makes me wonder . . .
