Great PW photos and Update On Jagdish in Moga

These girls were a bit brave - quite near the temple . . .

This was the best surprise ever! 

Jagdish, (white suit/uncovered head)is stuck in Moga/Punjab due to waiting for Visa etc to return to The PI.  She says, "I am the only Jehovah di Gava,"(she thinks she is one already)  in Moga. And apparently it's true. The nearest cong. is in Jalandhar which, by train, takes up to 3 hours!  As far as we know there are no bros or group or KH in Moga.  She was super-duper discouraged a while back, and it just so happened that about that time, Manjeet, from PJ CA, was also visiting her relatives in Moga (her last name is the same as Jagdish's but no relation) - I didn't even know that Manjeet was in Moga, since she was serving _? _ in Punjab. They attended a meeting in Jalandhar together.  Jagdish said that Manjeet was, "Testing me to see how much I know about Jehovah, and I surprised her."  Jehovah truly does provide what we need when we need it. 

This is Jagdish's back yard in Moga. She claims she preaches to 50+ people daily! Visitors, relatives, neighbours, passerby's. 

Untouched territory for real! 

I can't remember if I have mentioned this already, but her very ill son was the reason she had to return to India, which jeopardized her visa status in The PI.  Sadly, he died a terrible death, a few months  ago. It crushed Jagdish immensely.  I thought she was "done" with Jehovah, and she said she almost was.  

India, as you know, has one of the highest # of birth, marriage, death rituals, possibly in the world, so much so you can't really separate religion from daily life.    

 The entire village was against her, all her relatives, religious figures, magic practicing priests (who tried to heal her son with spells and tried to put a spell on her so that she would return to her original god and leave this "New God" she had found in The PI. - They claimed her original god was angry at her for doing this.) 

Jagdish told them, "Just you wait and see! My God is more powerful than your god. My son will get better!" 

But he didn't.  

This crushed her. 

She wouldn't accept my calls. Understandably so. 

We were praying that she had not left Jehovah. 

About a week later, her other son, who lives in The PI with Dad texted me, 

"Mum said please call her." 

I could not have been happier!  She related to me the whole story. Her anger at Jehovah, her "whys" and "how could you!" questions to Jehovah.  And then she says: "I just picked up my Bible and read for hours. I read for hours a day."  Her faith is intact. We are so stinking proud of her! Alone. No JW's. No KH.  Just her and Jehovah and her best friend The Bible. 

The last few months we've been having a regular bible study via Skype to mobile (she has no internet).  We decided to re-study the 2 chapters in the BH book on death and the resurrection hope. And man,  her questions about the resurrection are just flying left and right!  Where?  When?  The order?  How long will I have to wait after Armageddon?  Will he remember his death?  

There is a ritual of burning the dead's clothing, to avoid his ghost,  but she and her son adamantly told everyone, "No way!"  "Baljit's coming back!  And he's gonna be looking for his turbans, which he fashionably color coordinated to match his clothing . . .."  Her other son told mum, "Mum, put Baljit's things away in the chest upstairs and keep it safe.  Baljit will be mad if we get rid of it. He's gonna yell at us in the paradise and say, 'I thought you believed in a resurrection! If you did,  why then did you not keep my things!?'"    

Talk about faith! 

The entire village of Moga thinks Jagdish has lost her marbles. 

We know better - 

The resurrection hope is real to her and 

Jehovah is her living God.
