January 30, 2012

Video above is from a few months ago. This was only 1 month after PJ class had begun.  The boyz did really well, writing the guitar strings, and even got a professinal to show them how to harmonize.   It's a Hindi song, do you recognize it?  you should, if you have not seen the movie, watch it!

Monday: So this morning I needed to run out super quick to the mini-mall next door. I usually do.  and I never really run into anyone, so if i’m in my house dress, no make-up, unbrushed pushed up hair, no big deal, I do it all the time. but! this morning, i ran outside and was welcomed by tv camera’s!  media! crowds with camera’s! all standing outside my condo’s front lobby door. om(stinking)G! ahhhhh! I am only hoping i will not be on Philippine national TV.  so why the big show up?  gay-boyfriend-fight on the 15th floor with one threatening to jump.  i guess he was sitting on the ledge for hours.  anyway, he didn’t, and was talked out of it and sent to hospital.  ugh! and i’m on national tv make-up-less. And off course there were 3 others from my Cong in the mall.  some very nice discussions. one couple who I seriously thought were not interested, were! we just happened to be walking past their house and thought, let’s stop by, and as I “tell “ the householder, “you are busy right?”, she says no and invites us in, and then her husband tells us that “we’ve been waiting for you for weeks, can you  not wait 15 days to come back again, we have many questions about why you are doing this, (why happened that you changed religions)”.  And then Sukha (the blind boy) has learnt 5 points about the Bible, and he preached to his aunt, who also wants a study, as she tells us, “why don’t the religious books agree, how do you know which one to believe, I’ve been wanting to speak to an Indian about this, I have seen philippinos doing this but heard you guys were indian . . . ).  tuesday: good studies, home about 7pm.  wednesday:  study asked if it was ok to bow down to the guru granth sahib since we don’t bow down to humans. home by 7pm.  thursday:  mostly studies, home by 8pm.  friday:  day off-clean-shop-cook-tms meeting- phew! saturday;  well, this was the 1st time I had to do service alone!!!! i was scared. i was covering for sujata (her husband had a talk out  of town) and had plans with 4 publishers throughout the day.  no fault of anyone but it just never worked out.  but by the end of the day, i loved it, gained a new sense of confidence.  like, you know, man! I’m in pioneering in another country (alone!), walking the streets of metro  manila, . . .just me and jehovah and the angels. it was kinda cool. only went to homes that were scheduled for a study, and by the end of the day i preached to 13 people, had paratha’s and chai for breakfast (my fav) with one study,  and smosas for lunch (my other fav) w/another study, and home by 5:30.  sukha, btw, wanted to say his own prayer-“jehovah, for ਪੜਾਈ, studying, thank you, jibberish-jibberish-jib,jesus ,” and then i finished it off.  sunday:  was not a short day as i had hoped for (since I have not had a good nights sleep in 3 weeks, will explain in a bit), but what a beautiful touching sincere question parveen asked: “am i betraying guru nanak if i pray to jehovah?” and mandeep who expressed, “i’m scared”.  she has read the bible up to  luke and has been asking about the meaning of the sun turning to blood/moon, stars falling, sign of son of man etc.  but parveen made my day by saying that she will try to pray using jehovah’s name.  we hope some will attend the pj talk this sunday, talk to be given by jared from sj pj cong.  zone visit is coming up and our congregation is invited. coolness.  also the ‘school for travelling overseers and their wives’ is taking place so they are all attending our meetings and we get to take them in service.  and it is getting hotter too early in the year, usually not till April or may. Saw the movie "We Bought A Zoo".  Excellent one to watch.  It almost made me like animals, but no not really . .  last 3 weeks been hearing the sound of rats and mice running under my bedroom floorboards. Not fun. but it must be in my head debah?  i wish!  i don’t really wanna talk about it. did you know that tiny baby mice can flatten themselves so much that they are able to sliver through the floorboard and running border?  i don’t really wanna talk about it.  how do i know?  i  saw “it” while i was sitting up in bed reading my bible before bed.  so it’s not in my head! now for me, who resides in miss phobia-mania-land, that’s! a heart attack waiting to happen.  so every night, when i hear them i wake up to anxiety-panic-heart palpatation attacks (one of those, i don’t know the difference).  ugh! i don’t really wanna talk about it.  and the running under the floorboard feels like it’s running under my bed.  when i hear a thud/crash type sound, i think, hmmm, don’t think that’s a baby . . . .breathe  in . . .breathe out . . .pray . . .breathe in!! no! breathe out! or was it in, can’t remember, pray!  . . . .like i said, let’s not talk about it.  anyway, ahhhhhh!  i put masking tape on the edges of the  entire upstairs floorboard/bottom border so now i can just hear them everynight scurrying around the walls looking for a gap by pulling the tape. so far, i am winning! but let’s change the subject.   and did you know that mice hate cumin powder?  let’s give that a try.  so last 3 weeks i have had interrupted sleep.  i am in quit-mode.  but won’t.  i don’t really wanna talk about it.  how tired is tired?  i have no idea what day of the week it is.  feels like I have jet lag for weeks and well, Sunday, that one wins’ the prize – at the meeting after singing the song everyone sat down for the wt study while i remained standing with my head bowed and hands together… waiting for the closing prayer!!!!!!!!!!!! (I heard that, not funny)  can we change the subject now? p.s. i hate that movie ratatouille.
